In response to the commenter on my last post who was chiding me for not following the progressive party line...let me just state for the record: The purpose of this blog is not to convince Obama supporters of anything.
I'm not here to try to "unite" the Democratic party. I think the Democratic party is broken beyond repair: It's too late for that. (The only slight sliver of hope is if Obama convinces Hillary to be his VP, but that's probably not going to happen.)
This blog was born out of deep anger. It is a personal expression of that anger. I needed to put it somewhere rather than keeping it inside (it's just better for my health).
I felt so alone on this issue when I started this blog. Then I started getting comments and seeing the results of my poll. It felt good to realize I was not alone. A friend of mine started speaking about these issues thanks to the blog and now she knows she's not alone. And so it's a blog for those of us who feel this way need to stand up and speak so we know we have a voice. It stands for other women (and men) supporting Hillary who feel like we have not been heard by the media.
Finally, and most importantly, this blog is a virtual protest. It is my virtual picket sign.
While I do not have the highest hopes that the DNC or the media is listening, I do know that collectively, people begin to notice when a wave of discourse online turns to a particular direction. So I am here to stand firm and let the DNC know:
I will NOT fall in line!
